Another big one for the fourth Instalment of Steppas Choice on FM is going take place this Monday evening!
Both of them are well known in the scene and have been infected with Bass since a decade,
both of them mastered the art of switching between styles during a set in a miraculous way and
both of them are members of legendary crews
Kolt’, who’s gonna open the night, is a foundation Steppa, a subbass addict since the early days. He is around since the earliest Dubstep Radio Shows on Radio Radius, he played tons of sets at different parties, from very small to rather big, to put it short: Kolt’ is one of the most active and most forward thinking Bassaddict that I know. Together with his Unreleased Kollektiv he’s a force to reckon with!
Guyus, who completely blasted me away with his set at GetDarker
, is also making waves in the scene since day dot. Organising Parties in Basel in the early days and nowadays with New.com as DubExMachina , Guyus is a busy Soundbwoy. Always wanted them DubExMachina Guys over in the show – even more after the before mentioned GetDarker Set! So finally here we are: Get ready for Guyus! Big Up DubExMachina!

Mit „fraction“ will das Tengu Collective bewusst einen kleinen Teil der Partykultur in den Fokus stellen. Ob Musik, Soundtechnik, Licht oder Geschichte: Jeder Event präsentiert einen Bruchteil unseres Nachtlebens. Unsere erste Ausgabe widmen wir der musikalischen Vielfalt unter dem Motto „dubstep diversity“. 9 DJs aus 4 Kantonen präsentieren ihre Tunes – strictly vinylheavy subbass und mit vielen guten Vibes. Beschallt wird der Event vom selbstgebauten Tengu Soundsystem.
Wieso „dubstep diversity“?
Bis heute tun sich selbst die Grössen der Szene schwer Dubstep in Worte zu fassen. Kode 9 sagte einmal treffend „die einzige Konstante ist Subbass“. Gut, aber das alleine begründet ja noch keinen Stil. Oder doch? Ist das jetzt „wonky“, „bubbling“ oder doch „dungeon“? Wir wissen es selbst nicht so genau, wollen uns diese Diversität aber veranschaulichen. Eine subkulturelle Nacht der Vielfalt, abseits von Testosteron und musikalischer Ausbeutung der breiten Massen.

Die Berner Jungs von Blazin Dubz gehören zu den besten Dubstep Produzenten der Schweiz. Ihr Fokus liegt auf komplexen Arrangements von Rhythmen und treibendem Bass. Ihre Tunes spielen sie, der Foundation treu, nur ab Dubplates.
Faust b2b Zenit
Die talentierten Bieler Produzenten sorgen in ihrer Stadt für ein pulsierendes Nachtleben. Seit den ersten Tagen verfolgen und formen sie das Schweizer Dubstepgeschehen. Ihr erst kürzlich erschienenes Debut auf dem hauseigenen Label „Vandalizm Records“ spricht für sich. Tune in.
Flexible b2b Taiken
Die beiden St.Galler sind Mitbegründer des Tengu Soundsystems und der neuen „fraction“-Reihe. Das Publikum erwartet ein breites Spektrum an Dubstep und frisch geschnittenen Dubs aus eigenem Haus.

Die beiden Zürcher sorgen mit ihrer Partyreihe „Dub Ex Machina“ im Zürcher Cabaret seit jeher für ausserordentlich gute Bookings und Parties. „Comfort Noise“, der Podcast von New.com, widmet sich, wie er selbst betont, „advanced dubwise electronic music“ und ist definitiv hörenswert. Zwei wahre Vinylfreaks.

Das Zürcher Mitglied der Rhythm Family gründete das Schweizer Dubstepforum und schuf so einen Ort für den Austausch innerhalb der Szene. Mit seiner „Step In Dub“-Reihe sorgt er im Raum Zürich für regelmässige Dubstep-Parties

All I can say is he can play a set covering all the steps it took to get from UK Garage / 2 Step to Dubstep. Although he still doesn't believe that there's a link between House / Chicago House and UK Garage.... ; ))
